Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 22 June 2025

1. Scope & Introduction

Data Controller

For data-protection purposes, 0am.ch is the “Data Controller” responsible for the personal information we collect.

Policy Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through our website at 0am.ch, as well as any related APIs, integrations, email communications, or other channels associated with the Service.
It does not cover data-handling practices of third parties or services we do not directly control.

2. Data Collection

Account Registration Information

  • When you create an account, we collect the personal information you provide (e.g., name, email address).
  • Additional metadata essential for operating the platform (subscription tier, internal identifiers) may also be stored.

Usage Data

  • We collect only the information necessary for proper Service operation, such as IP addresses, device/browser details, and timestamped access logs.
  • These logs are used solely for security, troubleshooting, and Service analytics—not for invasive tracking or marketing.

Cookies & Tracking

  • We may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain your session and ensure the Service functions correctly.
  • Cookies are primarily session-based and/or essential; we do not share cookie data with third-party advertising networks.
  • A separate (or integrated) Cookie Policy may provide additional detail.

Third-Party Integrations (Stripe)

  • We partner with Stripe for payment processing, sharing only the data required to process payments (e.g., name, email, billing amount).
  • We may receive limited information back from Stripe, such as payment status, but we do not store or handle full payment-card details.

3. Data Use

Purpose of Collection

  • We use your name and email to manage authentication, billing, account support, and essential communications.
  • Payment details are handled primarily by Stripe; we retain only minimal data needed to link your account to a subscription.

Storage & Retention

  • Personal data are retained only while your account is active. After cancellation or deletion, we endeavor to remove your data as soon as possible.
  • Logs and backups containing personal data may persist briefly until fully purged.

Encryption & Security

  • Because the platform provides client-side encryption, we cannot decrypt the data you upload (except minimal operational metadata).
  • In plaintext, we typically see only information required for login, authentication, or subscription maintenance.
  • We employ industry-standard measures—SSL/TLS in transit, hashing, restricted access controls—to safeguard your information.

4. Third Parties & Sharing

Service Providers

Apart from Stripe, we currently do not use external analytics, hosting, or marketing vendors that process user data in a way that shares personal data for unrelated purposes.

Legal Requirements

We do not intend to disclose user data to third parties unless legally compelled (e.g., by lawful request of law enforcement). Where permitted by law, we will notify you before disclosure.

International Data Transfers

We do not explicitly transfer personal data outside Switzerland or the EEA unless our infrastructure—or Stripe’s—incidentally does so. If such transfers occur, we use safeguards aligned with applicable regulations.

5. User Rights & Control

Data Access & Deletion

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold by emailing mark@0am.ch from the verified email associated with your account.
  • You may also request data deletion; deletion does not automatically entitle you to a refund under your subscription terms.

Rectification & Portability

  • Update or correct account information through your user settings (where available).
  • Request a portable copy of your data (e.g., CSV export) by contacting mark@0am.ch; we will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

Opt-Out / Unsubscribe

If we send marketing or promotional emails, you will have the option to unsubscribe. Transactional or account-related emails may still be sent if essential.

6. Cookies & Tracking Policy

Types of Cookies

We use session cookies and other strictly necessary cookies for authentication and secure interactions.

Consent Mechanism

A cookie banner or consent mechanism may explain the essential nature of these cookies. Disabling them could impact functionality.

Policy Integration

This section serves as our Cookie Policy, though additional details may appear in a separate notice.

7. Children’s Privacy

Age Restrictions

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under any specific age threshold, nor do we maintain dedicated procedures for minors.

Parental Consent

If a minor signs up, we rely on Stripe’s age-verification rules (if any) and do not proactively verify age ourselves.

8. Data Security Measures

Technical Measures

The platform uses HTTPS for data in transit, encryption at rest where applicable, and client-side encryption for user-generated content.

Organizational Measures

We limit employee access to personal data, maintain access logs, and ensure only authorized personnel can view or manage personal information relevant to their duties.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

Notification

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website.

Effective Date

Updated versions take effect immediately upon posting unless stated otherwise. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates acceptance.
